Apple Turnover - Torta di mele

Story behind this recipe
This is my mom's recipe. I brought it once to a linguists' meeting and now I am kindly "obliged" to bring it to every meeting :). Except for summer time, where the Tiramisu is most requested... but this is another story.
1 kg (2 pounds) apples
200 gr. (7 oz) sugar
150 gr. (5 oz) flour
150 gr. (5 oz) butter
1/10 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
as many as you like raisins
Peel and slice the apples.
Mix a couple of ounces of the sugar with the apples. Cover and make them rest for 1 hour.
In the meanwhile,
Mix melted butter* and the rest of the sugar.
Add eggs and salt.
Add the syrup generated by the apples mixed with the sugar.
Add backing powder.
The result should be a creamy mixture.
Now take an oven-friendly pan, and distribute the slices of apples and the raisins on the bottom. Then add the mixture
Put in the warm oven. 25 minutes, 400 degree F (180°C)
*For a lighter recipe substitute butter with olive oil.
