Story behind this recipe
This is an easy quiche recipe that we often use for holiday breakfasts or summer lunches. Unfortunately, the measurements are not metric. I'm good with historical linguistics, but have not yet mastered conversion tables into metric measurements. My apologies.
Note: If using for breakfast, it is convenient to have step 1 done the night before. of course, if ingredients have been placed in a glass plate, start in a cold oven.
12 slices bacon (crisply fried and crumbled)
1 cup grated cheese (Swiss or cheddar)
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
1 4 oz can mushroom stems and pieces, drained (if desired)
2 cups milk
1/2 cup Bisquick
4 eggs (or egg substitute)
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1. Place bacon, cheese and onions in lightly greased 10" pie plate or quiche plate.
2. Place remaining ingredients in blender and blend on high speed for 1 minute pour into plate.
3. Bake at 350°F for approximately an hour (or until knife comes out clean). Let stand 5 minutes before cutting.
